AML / KYC policy
CoinYatra operates a risk-based financial crime programme. This summary explains the checks we apply and what we may ask of you.
Customer identification
Before withdrawals or fiat settlement we verify your identity: legal name, date of birth, residential address, a government-issued photo identity document, and a selfie for liveness matching. We may re-verify at any time, and may request additional documents where risk is elevated.
Source of funds and wealth
For larger or unusual activity we may ask how funds were obtained and request supporting evidence such as exchange statements, payslips or contracts. We may decline to credit or release funds until satisfactory evidence is provided.
Sanctions and PEP screening
Accounts are screened against applicable sanctions and politically exposed person lists at onboarding and on an ongoing basis. We do not serve prohibited jurisdictions or sanctioned persons and will freeze activity where a confirmed match arises.
Transaction monitoring
Deposits, orders, swaps and withdrawals are monitored for patterns indicating layering, structuring, mule activity, fraud proceeds or exposure to high-risk addresses. Withdrawals are risk-scored on value, destination history and velocity, and elevated requests are held for manual review.
Prohibited activity
We prohibit the use of CoinYatra for laundering criminal proceeds, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, darknet activity, unlicensed money transmission, and third-party deposits or withdrawals on behalf of someone else.
Reporting and cooperation
Where required by law we file reports with the relevant authorities and respond to lawful requests for information. We may be prohibited from telling you that a report has been made.
Record keeping
Identification records, verification documents and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable law after your relationship with us ends. The internal ledger is immutable, providing a complete and tamper-evident history of every balance change.
Governance
Staff access to verification documents and privileged actions is restricted by role, and every administrative action — crediting a deposit, approving a withdrawal, settling an order or adjusting a balance — is written to an append-only audit log.
